Manila is the capital of the Philippines. The oldest university which is the University of Santo Tomas is found here. Most business establishments can be found in Binondo, Makati and Ortigas. Manila is a great place for shoppers. You can find boutiques, shops, stores and malls in almost every corner. Visitors can choose from a variety of shopping centers such as the Alabang Town Center, Glorietta Mall, Festival Mall, Harrison Plaza, Robinson’s Mall, Star Mall, SM Malls and a lot, lot more. Tourists visiting here must go to the walled city of Intramuros where the centuries old Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church & Museum and the Fort Santiago can be found. Visit the official residence of the president of the Philippines which is the Malacañang Palace. Manila celebrates the Feast of the Black Nazarene every 9th of January. During the feast you can watch the largest procession with the life-size image of Jesus Christ. Nightlife in Manila is lively, with the variety of bars, restaurants, discos, café’s, Karaoke lounges to choose from. Most people enjoy nightlife in Malate District, Bay Walk, Green Belt and a lot, lot more. More exciting places to visit are the China Town in Binondo, Rizal Park, National Museum plus a lot more. For those who like to participate in game of chance, you should visit the Casino Filipino.
