The Banaue rice terraces are one of the most awesome attractions in the Philippines. Foreigners and locals who visit here never regret spending time to see its beauty. It is truly remarkable how the Ifugaos made it all using just their bare hands. A Banaue rice terrace, which is also known as the eighth wonder of the world, is created by the Ifugaos, 2000 to 3000 years ago. The natives plant rice in these leveled steps until today. It is considered as mankind’s greatest achievement. Banaue has also 4 similar terraces; they are the Batad rice terraces, Mayoyao rice terraces, Hapao rice terraces and Kiangan rice terraces.
